Abstract

This Article provides an overview of the theories of memory existing in the humanities, describes the peculiarities of art and cultural interpretations of this phenomenon. The category and the phenomenon of memory in the interpretation of A. Samoilenko acts as one of the main and most important conceptual components of the modern musicology. In the concept of «Memory» in music, in the researcher’s opinion, «Memory of understanding» (creative memory) is being updated, which meets the highest artistic semantic intentions and contributes to their implementation.
